At VM Group, our thirty years of experience in ventilated facades drives us to constantly seek solutions that are not only aesthetically flawless—such as our creations in Navona Travertine or Terracotta—but also guarantee the highest standards of structural safety.

Today, we are proud to announce our collaboration with Siderise Group, a world leader in fire protection and acoustic insulation solutions. In particular, we integrate RH series horizontal fire barriers into our systems, specifically designed for draining and ventilated facades.

Why is fire protection vital in ventilated facades?

The air gap in a ventilated facade is essential for the thermal and hygrometric comfort of the building, as it allows moisture to drain away and maintains a constant flow of air. However, in the event of a fire, this technical void can turn into a dangerous “chimney effect.”

Siderise RH25 (90/30) barriers solve this challenge in a smart way:

  • Under normal conditions: They allow air to pass through and drainage.

  • In case of fire: The intumescent material on the edge of the barrier expands rapidly, sealing the ventilation space and blocking the spread of flames.

Technical Features of Excellence

The barriers we have selected for our projects offer certified performance:

  • Fire resistance: Integrity (E) of 90 minutes and Insulation (I) of 30 minutes.

  • Extreme durability: Tested to withstand freeze-thaw cycles, UV rays, and rain, they have an expected lifespan of 60 years.

  • Non-combustible core: Made of rock wool (Class A1) with intumescent sheathing.

  • Invisible design: The front strip is covered with a black film that creates a “shadow line,” preserving the aesthetics of the open joints of the cladding.

The VM Group Method: Certified Safety

All our installations, whether concealed fixings on natural stone or complex sunshade systems, can now rely on Siderise technology. This partnership allows us to design building envelopes that protect people and architectural investments, complying with the strictest European standards (EN 13501-1).
